Alex’s work throughout a variety of mediums raises concerns to the impacts that humans have on communities, the environment and how to be more sustainable. He strives towards this goal by combining the platform of digital arts with his passion for nature. He is interested in being able to integrate graphic design with research methods to help bring awareness and improve ecological situations in our state.
Teaching Philosophy
At the foundation of my pedagogical approach is a deeply rooted belief that the education of a student should be holistic, touching upon not just the intellectual facets but also nurturing their emotional and social realms. Education, in its truest essence, should be a transformative journey, shaping not just the mind but also the heart. This is especially true in the world of typography and design, a discipline that stands at the nexus of
creativity and communication.
creativity and communication.
My mission, as an educator, is not merely to guide students in the technicalities
of typography but to curate an environment where they can appreciate its broader implications. Typography, in its multifaceted glory, acts as a bridge. It connects the aesthetic world of art with the functional domain of readability, creating a unique platform for introspection and understanding. Every curve, line, and space in a design can tell a story, reflecting societal nuances and revealing personal sentiments. As we embark on this enlightening journey through typography's landscapes, students are encouraged not just to sharpen their design techniques but to also delve deep, discovering the societal underpinnings and the intimate expressions that inform every artistic choice they make.

Central to this journey is my effort to foster an environment where
every individual feels free to share, discuss, and evolve their ideas, ensuring that the classroom becomes a dynamic space of collective growth and innovation.
